Centennial Park is one of Sydney's most popular outdoor getaways as it is close to the city and offers a diverse range of activities including cycling, jogging, tennis, golf, horse riding lessons, rollerblading, bird watching, picnicking, or you can just relax around a BBQ or lie under a tree next to many of the park's ponds.

Activities

Cycling

Centennial Park attracts over 700 000 cyclist a year from all ages and all types of cyclists. The park consists of many roads with dedicated cycle lanes, and trails to satisfy most cycling enthusiast and also has a learners cycleway for children who are just learning to ride.

Jogging/Walking

With 360 hectares of parklands to explore there is no need to do laps around the oval. The park has plenty to see with large ponds, tree lined roads and formal gardens to admire.

Bird Watching

Over 140 different species of birds have been sighted in the park which makes it one of Sydney's best places for bird watching. Some of the birds sighted within the park have been the Black Swan, Australian Pelican, White Breasted Sea Eagle, Tawny Frogmouth and Rainbow Lorikeet. Roller Blading

Centennial Park's Grand Drive incorporates a 3.6 kilometre cycling lane with low gradient, ideal for rollerblading.

Getting There

If you are driving you can enter Centennial Park via Lang Rd, Oxford St, York Rd and Darley Rd.
