Huang Long is famous for its series of colourful pools formed by calcite deposits - it is a popular tourist destination for those in the area. The main walk takes you beside a series of travertine landscapes, of pools, waterfalls and cascades. Its highest point is at an altitude of 3600 metres, so take it easy if you've just arrived.
The walk to the top is mostly paved. It is quite steep, and if you're not acclimatised you may find the going strenuous.
You can get a taxi from Jiu Zhai Gou airport, or local buses.
